1. “01011001″ is the binary form of the number 89, which is the ASCII code for the letter ‘Y’. 01011001’s plot is tied to the “Planet Y” and “Forever of the Stars” storyline developed in the albums Into the Electric Castle, The Universal Migrator and The Human Equation.
2. Of the vocalists, only Anneke van Giersbergen, Floor Jansen and Arjen Lucassen have appeared on previous Ayreon albums: Anneke on Into the Electric Castle and Floor singing backing vocals on The Dream Sequencer.
3. The album leaked on November 30, 2007.

Only Torment will provide you with a skillful beating. The disc is a 35-minute workout in beautifully produced death metal that thrives on grunted vocals, chaotic blast beats, audible, popping bass and the occasional godly groove. The last in this list, however, is actually quite frustrating, as Neverlight Horizon’s song writing isn’t conducive to keeping these great ideas and recycling them throughout a song.
